Broadway in Bartlesville 08-09 Season Announced!
Our Broadway in Bartlesville 2008-2009 season is going to be a
dynamic season. There are six spectacular shows planned with no price increase.
As always, our current season subscribers will have the option to renew their
seats before new subscriptions are filled. All renewals must be received
by July 15. Don’t miss the great season that we have booked for you.
Dance your way into the season with DANCING QUEEN on
Sunday, October 12 at 2:00 p.m. This 1970’s disco dance extravaganza is a
gorgeous, glittering production celebrating the timeless hits of ABBA, The Bee
Gees, The Village People and others. It’s a feel good, happy show, and
guaranteed to send you out with a smile on your face.
One of the biggest Broadway hits ever, CHICAGO, will
entertain us on Thursday, October 30. The story of a seductive nightclub dancer,
Roxie Hart, who finds that the road to fame can be a trail of blood. Throw in a
cunning lawyer and a bit of razzle dazzle and Roxie goes from cold hearted
killer to the toast of the town. This musical comedy is for adult audiences.
On Tuesday, January 20, the smash hit, NUNSENSE,
starring Sally Struthers, will light up Bartlesville with this fun performance.
It all begins when the Little Sisters of Hoboken discover that their cook has
accidentally poisoned 52 of the sisters and they are in dire need of funds for
the burials. The sisters decide that the best way to raise the money is to put
on a variety show, so they take over the school auditorium which is currently
set up for the eighth grade production of “Grease”.
Prepare to be amazed with the presentation of THE
SPENCERS: Theatre of Illusion on Monday, February 16. This duet combines
original theatrical elements with cutting-edge illusions, audience interaction,
dramatic lighting, special effects, music, movement and stage magic. The
Spencers have propelled the age-old art of magic into the 21st century and are
guaranteed to keep your whole family on the edge of their seats!
Monday, April 27, JESUS CHRIST, SUPERSTAR makes
its debut in Bartlesville. Ted Neeley in the title role of Tim Rice and Andrew
Lloyd Webber’s show, first exploded onto the stage in 1971 and it was clear
that the musical world would never be the same again. Jesus Christ, Superstar is
a dramatized version of the last seven days in the life of Jesus of Nazareth.
Leapin’ lizards! ANNIE is coming to Broadway
in Bartlesville! Wednesday, June 3. Orphan Annie is back, giving a whole new
generation the chance to experience this classic musical about never giving up
hope. Annie is a delightful theatrical experience for the entire family.
