Bartlesville Choral Society
The Bartlesville Choral Society is a 70-voice Community Chorus that has been a vibrant part of the Northeast Oklahoma arts scene since 1976. The society presents 3 concerts a year, showcasing a wide variety of music from large classical works such as our bi-annual presentation of Handel’s Messiah to programs of shorter varied choral works to pops concerts.
Requiem, Gabriel Fauré
Saturday, November 5, 7:30 p.m.
Taking as its theme both memorial and renewal following the tenth anniversary of the 9-11 attacks, the Choral Society will present music that expresses both the sorrow of the occasion and the hope that continues to lift our nation. Additional pieces include two from Testament of Freedom, Kyrie from “Memorial” and Five Songs of Faith written “In Tribute to the American Spirit”.

Handel’s Messiah
Sunday, December 4, 2:00 p.m.
This performance continues a Choral Society tradition - presenting Handel’s Messiah bi-annually. With full orchestra and guest soloists, the choir will sing the Christmas portion, as well as selections from the other two sections of the masterpiece. Guest soloists will be Soprano, Sarah Tannehill; Alto, Kathryn Stewart; Tenor, Stefan Barner; and Bass, Jonathan Stewart.

Let’s go to the Movies
Sunday, April 1, 2:00 p.m.
A lighthearted concert of cinema music that includes songs that enhanced the visual aspect of a film, such as “Suo Gan” from Empire of the Sun, and “Thaxted” from Invictus as well as feature music, such as “Down to the River to Pray” from O Brother, Where Art Thou?, and “Oklahoma” from Oklahoma in which the chorus takes center stage.
