BCC Closed - Coronavirus Pandemic

BARTLESVILLE COMMUNITY CENTER TO RE-OPEN SOON

Val Callaghan, Managing Director of the Bartlesville Community Center, announced the plans to re-open the BCC to the public on Monday, May 18th. “Our plan is to open the Center slowly, safely and in the phases recommended by local and state government. The health and safety of BCC patrons, staff and volunteers remains our top priority. Therefore, we will continue to implement all health recommendations from the Center for Disease Control as we re-open this next week.”

At first, event sizes will be limited to less than 50 persons, but with 84,000 square feet, visitors will find it easy to maintain their social distance once inside the building. For everyone’s safety, BCC staff who are in direct contact with the public will be required to wear a mask. Patrons are encouraged to do the same, though masks will not be mandatory for guests.

Provided there are no new restrictions imposed by the city or state, and Phase Two goes well, larger events such as weddings, birthdays, and civic/business events may resume on June 1st. Guests will be strongly encouraged to continue social distancing practices and spread out as much as possible during gatherings. As we draw closer to the fall production season, recommendations for concert and production protocol will be outlined. Ticket buyers will be advised of any updated seating and social distancing measures which BCC management and presenting arts group organizers implement for auditorium events.

According to Callaghan, “the past two months have been a stressful time for many who frequent the Center. Presenting arts groups, non-profits and private renters have been forced to postpone or cancel their events. They have been hard hit during this time and for this reason, we ask that you consider donating your cancelled tickets for productions and fundraisers to their organizations instead of asking for a refund.”

While closed BCC social media pages have been updated to keep you informed. We trust that you have taken advantage of some of the live streamed arts events and other interesting art related posts. We hope you have cruised through the BCC parking lot and have watched as Tower Center at Unity Square takes final shape. As we look forward to better days, we thank you for your continued support of the BCC and the arts. Stay well and we look forward to seeing you at the Center soon!

Bartlesville Community Center hours are Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm. We will be closed on Monday, May 25 for Memorial Day and Friday, July 3 for Independence Day. To reach us by phone call 918-337-2787 or contact us online.
